Creative A.I. Website (UI/UX Design)

The New School hired me to design creativitywith.ai in collaboration with a team of graduates. The project started with research and finished with a successful site launch garnering almost 100k users in the first year. Recently, we have rebuilt the website as aifutures.design.

I studied articles, books, existing websites and forums to understand the technology and the cultural implications of integrating A.I. into the creative process. Our team conducted a number of interviews to better understand creatives and their relationship to A.I. Additionlly, I taught the course Artificial Intelligence, Creativity, and Social Justice, which allowed me specific insights into students. This secondary research helped us build a site that helped to condense this information into an interactive web experience.

Once we understood what to address across the site we dove into drafting mood boards, wireframes, and a graphic language to support the website designs using Figma, Illustrator, and mural to work collaboratively.

Research and Early Drafts

In order to understand A.I. in the first place it was necessary to do secondary research. This included reading articles, entire books, and searching through existing websites and blogs to understand the technology and the cultural implications. We also conducted interviews to better understand creatives and their relationship to A.I..

Once we understood the concepts we began drafting website designs. I used figma, adobe illustrator, and mural to work collaboratively. We developed mood boards, wireframes, icons, and more:

Our focus on simple icons for the different categories of A.I. tools helped us to build out our library feature:

Final Results

Our final results focused on a library page and a resources page, which we found through research would be the best features of the website to welcome creatives in. Here are a few stills of the website, but I encourage you to visit it yourself here.
