The Plains Identity and Website (UX & Graphic Design)
I was hired as a contractor to develop the brand identify and website for the documentary film company The Plains. We determined that their audience included both commercial clientele and the non-fiction film world. From that we began designing. You can visit the website here.

Inspiration
For the brand identity the The Plains asked for inspiration from a number of other identities, including Rhodia and Janus Films:

Early Workdmark Ideations
I workd on a number of wordmark ideas, and presented the client with a handful, including the ones below. The client asked for the wordmarks to represent a trustworthy, warm, and curious feel.

Chosen Wordmark and Applications
The client settled on the wordmark below, which could be applied in a number of contexts. The rougher edges around the letters and the uneven lines brought a sense of warmth, while the classic type and plant-like mark around the “T” evokes a classic feel.

I provided an entire style guide, including type color:

Logo
I also spent time designing a number of different logos based on the plant-like mark that could be used in contexts aside from the full wordmark:

Website
After completing the brand identity I developed a website for desktop and mobile, which you can visit here.
